Joni Downs - Ph.D., L.P.
Dr. Downs’ background includes 10 years as school counselor at the middle and high school levels in Southeast Wisconsin. During graduate education at Marquette University, she completed practicum placements under the supervision of licensed psychologists. This included work at Family Services in Waukesha, WI and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Counseling Center. Her training continued during a one year APA accredited pre-doctoral supervised internship at the University of St. Thomas (St. Paul, MN) counseling center. She was then hired as an Assistant Professor in the Counselor Education Department at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater teaching, advising, and providing clinical supervision to future school, community, and higher-education counselors. During her graduate training and post-degree work, she has supervised masters and doctoral level therapists.

David Franczyk - ABD, MSW, APSW
David Franczyk is a licensed advanced practice social worker (APSW) who received his Master of Social Work degree from Loyola University Chicago and has completed the coursework for his PhD in Clinical Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. David is very interested in understanding the relationship between spirituality/religion and mental health – he is writing his dissertation on the relationship between using spirituality/religion as a coping mechanism and treatment for disordered eating.
In addition to practicing psychotherapy at Therapies East Associates, David is an instructor in the Graduate School of Social Work at Loyola University Chicago and in the Behavioral Sciences Department at Alverno College, Milwaukee, Wi. An active member of his community, David serves on the Boards of Directors of Rogers Memorial Hospital, Mental Health America Wisconsin and Pathfinders, all agencies focused on the mental health of our community.

Lila Piraino - MS, LPC
Lila Piraino has worked with adolescents and adults in therapy
for over 20 years. She integrates both eastern and western
methods in her therapeutic approach. While focusing on
