Welcome! My name is Trish Miller, LCSW. I am a psychotherapist offering holistic counseling services to individuals, couples and families. I believe psychotherapy is a journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance. I also believe it is a collaborative relationship that is built on trust, respect and mutual participation.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in mindfulness, self- acceptance and non-judgmental awareness. I encourage clients to adopt a compassionate exploration of the stuck places in their lives and I help clients in examining the history of self-defeating patterns in a gentle and truthful manner. I assist clients in calming their inner critic and developing a positive and loving relationship with themselves and others. I encourage clients to find their own answers and truths. I guide clients in connecting with their intuition and inner wisdom. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) breath work and body-centered treatment modalities to encourage healing of both body and mind.
With over 20 years experience, I enjoy working with adolescents and adults on a wide range of symptoms and issues which include: anxiety and depression (including postpartum), mood and bipolar disorder, women’s issues, mid-life transition, relationship issues, assertive communication skills, parenting, divorce and blended family issues, body image and self esteem, grief and loss, sexuality, gender and LGBT issues. I also specialize in the treatment of trauma and post-traumatic stress symptoms including single incident traumas as well as histories of childhood abuse and neglect.
In addition to my training as a Master’s Level Social Worker, I have trained in Self-Acceptance Training (SAT) which includes the modalities of guided imagery, gestalt and bioenergetics. I am trained in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma and attachment issues. I am a graduate of the Free Spirit School of Integrated Energy Healing. I have trained in Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM). I have also studied and practice dream work interpretation.
My personal interests include yoga, dance, travel, nature, cooking, gardening and spending time with friends and family.
